Field Service Team Assures Mission Success

For more than 40 years, Caton Connector has supported the US military, providing high voltage assemblies critical to the operation of some of the most advanced weapons systems in the world.  Through their dedicated efforts, Caton Connector has achieved Preferred Supplier status and continues to build on their reputation as the premier supplier of specialty, high voltage connectors and cable assemblies.

In an on-going effort to provide continuous support to our valued customers, Caton Connector has developed a fully mobile Field Service Program offering a full spectrum of in-field services and the ability to travel worldwide on short notice.  The team of skilled technicians is available to provide essential on-site services including:  Baseline testing and evaluation, troubleshooting, repair and full assembly replacement, if necessary.

In early 2015, Caton was called upon to deploy their team of seasoned technicians to Norfolk, VA where they executed necessary repairs in support of the Aegis AN/SPY-1 radar system aboard DDG-94 USS Nitze.  The AN/Spy-1 Radar constitutes the primary Air & Surface search radar for the Aegis Weapons System.

Utilizing mobile, high voltage test, diagnostic and portable cable termination equipment, Caton Connectors team of technicians was able to quickly identify the cause of the system failure and make the necessary repairs.  This included complete removal of a 135ft high voltage cable assembly, which traveled through a myriad of cable hangars, Multi-Cable Transit systems and over 4 decks of the Navy Destroyer.  In less than 72 hours, the AN/SPY-1 radar system was back on-line and fully functional in time for their scheduled deployment.
